Children First Community Homes and Services, Inc is Hiring a Live-in Caregiver Near Broward County, FL

If you love children and wish you could be paid to be a stay-at-home parent, well, we have the job for you. We are searching for a live-in individual or couple to operate as professional foster houseparents to work and live full-time in our group homes. We are open to hiring singles and couples to provide a safe and nurturing environment for children in foster care. We are looking for them to implement the C.A.R.E and P.C.M model, which consists of building relationships, increasing competencies, and maintaining structure and consistency in a corporate-owned home. You will be operating as a parent, so you will live there 24/7, days a week, and treat these children and home as your own. You will work in a team environment where 1-2 staff members will come on daily to assist 24/7, days a week. These individuals are here to assist you with behaviors and to relieve you for a daily break. You will have your bedroom and bathroom. You will be able to sleep only when the children are sleeping at night. Take your break while the children are at school during the week, and on weekends and non-school days, you will be given a 2-hour break to take care of your personal needs if needed. Food, utilities, vehicle, and insurance will be provided:

Your Major Responsibilities:

  • Meet the children’s emotional needs by being available and approachable.
  • Ensure that children’s hygiene needs are met.
  • Prepare meals and snacks for the children and create a “family-like” environment during meals.
  • Ensure the house is clean. Teach and supervise daily chores by the children.
  • Transport children to all appointments as needed (medical; dental; court; family visits; etc.).
  • Work closely with the treatment team and attend a weekly meeting.
  • Responsible for medication management as needed.
  • Complete bi-monthly inventory of needed toiletries, household supplies, and groceries.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including Continuous Quality Improvement outcomes, and progress notes daily.
  • Participate in planned social, educational, and vocational activities.

  • You must meet all of the following requirements in order to be considered for employment as a House Parent:
  • Be able to deal with a Group of six Children - Elementary, Middle, and High School Ages with Preference Given to Experience in a Residential Setting
  • Must be Willing and Able to Live In our Foster Group Home Year Round
  • CPR/AED
  • Must Meet Education Requirements - Minimum of a High School Diploma with Higher Education Preferred
  • Obtain a medical and physical exam
  • Obtain a Psychatric Evaluation
  • Must have a Valid Florida Driver’s License and maintain a Good Driving Record
  • Must be Able to Pass an extensive Background Screening - Local Arrest Record, State of Florida Criminal Record Search, sexual predator search (national/local) and FBI Fingerprinting.
  • Must be Able to Pass a Drug Test and be available for random testing quarterly.
  • You will have to sign a 1 year employment contract.
  • If operating as a couple, one can't have a job outside of the agency and work together as a team to provide supervision when the other partner returns home from work.
